We took 3 boys camping this past weekend, Yeah, I know, What was I thinking???
Well, here's the topics of conversation in the backseat.
The first topic was, of course, what was packed, what should have been packed and how many girls would be there.
We passed a water tower, so then conversation was based on what it would take to blow up a water tower and how much of an explosion and flood each weapon of destruction would cause. Almost an half hour of discussion followed.
We then rode thru a college town and every female in every car was "checking them out".
Odd, but I think it was the other way around. They were busy checking out every female they saw.
THe females were either, too old, too young, too fat, too skinny, had a mole on her face, wore her shors too short, wore her shorts too long, or she was stuck-up.
Funny how you can tell all that passsing her in a car!
It will be real interesting iin a year or two, to see what kind of girls they go out with.
Then we saw a rainbow.
OMG !!! Then started the mimicing of the "Intense Double Rainbow" guy!! Please, take my advice, if you have 3 teenage boys riding in your car, please, for your own sanity, try to avoid letting them see a rainbow !!
I laughed until I cried. I almost peed. And I was the responsible adult driving !!

Life With Mr Scratchy
Does anyone else watch "Big Bang Theory"?
Well living with Mr. Scratchy is like having to live with the character "Sheldon". In fact, that is our nick-name for him.
The first time I stumbled upon this show, I wondered if the writers had sat across from us at a restaurant or had been peeking in our windows.
Leonard had ordered Chinese take out and when he returned with it, Sheldon was questioning him whether the eggrolls had shredded cabbage or chopped cabbage. (Like it makes a difference.)
We have been to restaurants where Mr. Scratchy would not order anything to eat, only a drink, because "there is nothing on this menu I can eat", or because the place "smelled" weird or "it just don't look right in here" whatever that means.
We have learned to live with it, but waitresses usually try to cajole him into trying something. They bring him fries or a grilled cheese sandwich because they don't understand how he can NOT eat while everyone else is. We went to one place and he wouldn't order anything and he told the waitress that "nothing looks like I can eat it." She told him she understood. She really seemed to understand. And what was going thru my mind? I was wondering what she KNEW that WE should know!

I bought a jigsaw puzzle from the thrift store. It had been opened. I don't usually buy opened puzzles for a very good reason. We almost had it all together when Mr. Scratchy noticed there was a piece missing. We looked everywhere and couldn't find it. This threw Mr. Scratchy for a loop ! "Why? Why would they sell you a puzzle with a piece missing? Don't they put them together first to make sure? Don't they care"?
This bothered him so much he refused to help finish it.
I bought it because I liked the picture. What WAS I thinking?

Yesterday, Mr. Scratchy came into the den with a basket of toilet paper. All 17 rolls that were in the drawer in the bathroom cabinet where I keep it.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm going to put all of this in the trash!
"Why?"
He walked over to the desk where I was and pulled a piece of notebook paper out of my notebook, crumpled it up and said,"Because, I might as well be wiping with this!"
"Take that all back and put it back where you got it and when we go to the store again, YOU can pick out the toilet paper."
No, it is not that rough. I bought a store brand. Again, What was I thinking?

Mr. Scratchy is now 13 !!

Mr. Scratchy is now 13 !!

He has traveled along way to get here and has been counting off the days for two years now. He couldn't wait to be a teenager. I told him to stay young because when you get old, you're old forever.
But will he listen? He is in such a hurry to grow up that he is tripping over those huge size 9 feet !

Over the last year, he has done alot of growing. First we noticed that dark shadow over his lip that is slowly becoming a moustache ! You heard me. A moustache !
I tried to make him wash it off thinking it was the remains of Oreo's but he informed me that it was there to stay. This was overnight, or so it seemed.

Next the voice started getting deeper.

Then the feet got longer, and the legs started going up and up, although I'm still taller than him by 2 inches,( Nanny-nanny Boo-boo!)

It's been a battle getting him out of a hoodie. but yesterday, he cut the sleeves off of a tee-shirt.
I know, this was so his muscles would show !

He informed me that he had invited a few friend to spend the night in our pop-up camper. His birthday was on a Wednesday. My Uncle was sick and not expected to live through the week, so the date of the sleep-over wavered back and forth a few times.
The funeral was Friday and so was the sleep-over.
One of the boys decided not to come because another boy was here and after a few telephone conversations between the guys, they sorted it out. They all decided to get along and I was wondering what kind of night I was in for !
Thankfully, all went well and I only had to yell out of the window once ! The boys behaved better than I imagined they would and I actually got some sleep.
The next morning, they all cleaned up their mess and even folded down the camper !
Happy Birthday Mr. Scratchy, I Love You !!!

Mr. Scratchy Wants to Live With the Mek

I just had to share this funny !
My son is fascinated with the Travel Channel's "Living With the Mek".
(I think sort of like my little brother used to be with National
Geographic, if you know what I mean.)

We have a great family reunion every summer that is 3-4 days long with
themes. This years theme is "Around the World in 4 Days".
We are having a costume night. You have to wear a costume from another
country. We were discussing this at the table one day. My mom had
suggested that we make German costumes, when my son piped up and
said,"I want to go dressed like "Living With the Mek".

Uhm........
I'm just not sure how to make those "penis gourds"!!!!
