Please pray ,
Tonight, about 7:30, my hometown, Port Wentworth, Ga, suffered a shocking blow. Our local sugar refinery blew up.
The news commentator just announced that they are flying at least 10 people to the burn center in Augusta. There are over 40 people being treated for burns and blast wounds at local hospitals. Most of these have burns 30 to 60 % of their bodies. Some have lost limbs in the blast
They have at least 6 people unaccounted for at this time. The buildings are in pieces and they won't be able to get into them until the fires are out and morning light. This is the biggest thing that has happened here in many years.
Growing up in a small mill town, you get to know each other. I went to school all my life with alot of these people.
Alot of these families have been working at this mill for generations.
Please pray for the burn victims, the other injured and their families, the doctors and nurses and other care givers.
My son-in-law is an EMT and a fireman and he and his brother are both out there tonight.
Please pray for them all.

I did not know that you lived there. I can understand your sorrow. We all have been following this. i suppose that you felt the blast pretty well. We did not here where we live in Savannah. My daughter was on duty at the hospital when that happened and had to stay to help. She said it was awful.
I am so sorry for this.
Sandy
I am so sorry! I had no idea this was your hometown where this happened!
I've been so sad hearing of it in the news.
I'm from a small town, too; I know how it is when you feel connected to everybody there. My heart and prayers are with your friends and neighbors.
one of my online friends live 25 miles from there and knows a few people in the areas- parents of school friends.. one dad they know was burnt pretty badly.
